Dr. Giuseppe ‘Nino’ Farina in his race winning Alfa Romeo Tipo 158 ‘Alfetta’ following team mate Juan Manual Fangio, both about to overtake Louis Chiron’s
Talbot-Lago. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone on May 13, 1950 was the first race of the year in the new World Championship. Farina would take pole position, fastest lap, and would go on to take the crown becoming motor racing’s inaugural Driver’s World Champion.
