After a $25,000 wager between Fred Moskovics, president of Stutz, and Charles Weymann to a 24 hour race at the Indianapolis Speedway, the Stutz Black Hawk Speedster (#7), to be driven by Tom Rooney and Gil Anderson, and the Hispano Suiza H6c Boulogne (#3), to be driven by Charles Weymann and Robert Bloch, lined up on the start line at 1:00pm on April 18th, 1928. 19 hours and 20 minutes after the start the Hispano was flagged in after Moskovics conceded defeat due to continuing engine problems - the only time a Stutz ever had a mishap in all the racing they had done all over the world.
