The revived Czechoslovakian Grand Prix was run on the Masarykring circuit at Brno on September 25, 1949. Philippe Etancelin driving the V-16 Talbot T26C(#3) finished in second place. Swiss Baron Emmanuel de Graffenried was driving the Enrico Plate’s team Maserati 4CLT (# 9). Franco Cortese, driving the Ferrari 166 Formula Libra (#15) finished third, with the Tatra 2 litre four-cylinder sports racing car (#22) driven by works engineer-cum-test driver Bruno Sojka placing ninth.
